Our first stop is at the most popular viewpoint, from where we have a splendid panoramic view of the city.  Overlooking a few of the 14 islands, which Stockholm is located on, Old Town Hall (you will see the Golden Hall and the Blue Hall) as well as Vasa Museum.

The Vasa Museum is located on an island referred to as Royal Djurgården. It is the Stockholmers most beloved recreational area and home to the city’s amusement park, the open-air museum Skansen, the playhouse of Astrid Lindgren “Junibacken” and much more. The Vasa Museum displays the Swedish warship Vasa, which could be considered Sweden’s greatest failure but is today instead one of our greatest success stories. Vasa sank on her maiden voyage, in Stockholm’s inner harbour, in 1628. After 333 years at the bottom of the sea the Vasa was salvaged and stands before us 95% intact.

At the end of the tour we will take a guided tour in Old Town. History will come alive with the historical sights and authentic stories told as we make our way through the winding alleys, hidden courtyards and charming squares.

And last but not least, you will also get free time to buy souvenirs or treat yourself to a nice cup of coffee. When the 5 hour Essential Stockholm Tour is over, you will return to your ship with unforgettable memories of Stockholm.

Note, the tour sequence may vary depending on traffic conditions and overcrowding at venues.

We will admire the Residence of the Danish Royal Family at the impressive Amalienborg Castle, boasting wonderful views of the Opera House and the Marble Church nearby. The charming fairytales of Hans Christian Andersen become alive when paying a visit to the statue created by the famous fables himself. The Little Mermaid, who is elegantly watching over her waterfront home, has become a must-see symbol of the city.

Towards the old town center, we will enjoy a walk on the celebrated pedestrian street, Stroget. The world’s longest strolling lane begins with the lively Town Hall Square and Tivoli Gardens next door and will lead us to the splendid Kings New Square. Half way down the street, we will delight ourselves with a visit to the magnificent Christiansborg Castle. This is considered home for both by Danish Parliament, Prime Ministers Offices as well as the Royal Reception Rooms regularly used for official dinners & banquets.
